Back "in the day" there was always a lot of ironing. I remember Grandma Vessa McGrath having a big blue plastic bag that she would use to hold her sprinkled ironing.
When she ran out of time to finish the batch, she would put the bag of sprinkled ironing in the freezer in the back bathroom until she could get back to it. When she put it in the freezer it would not mildew.
I have done that a couple of times in my life, but anymore we just don't have that much that needs to be ironed.

Ditto this memory for me. Laura told exactly as i remember the ironing. i do recall a big window above the freezer or in the room somewhere to make the room light to iron by. i recall her ironing sheets before permanent press came about!
