Spiritual Feelings

The following is an excerpt from Vernon McGrath's "More Than Twenty Years in the Mt. Graham Stake Presidency"

As near as I can determine this event happened sometime in 1940.

"It was while President Kimball was our Stake President that David O. McKay visited our Stake. At that time he was an Apostle. He and his charming wife, Sister McKay, visited our Stake and Saturday evening, before our meeting started, Brother and Sister Kimball had Brother & Sister McKay as their guests for dinner. Vessa and I and Brother and Sister Mitchell had also been invited to be present. It was a wonderful, unique and outstanding experience to sit and listen to a man like Brother McKay tell of his missionary experiences among the islands of the sea. He told of how once he spoke in English and the congregation
heard his message in their native tongue. He told many wonderful things that made me feel almost like he was in the presence of angels. When he spoke he was so humble and such a wonderful man."
