We always had cats, but Daddy never liked them. They were just tolerated for me, I suspect. However, the cats were usually interested in him. I remember how frustrated he would get while trying to use the adding machine to have a cat sitting on the desk trying to catch the keys of the adding machine, or jumping on the tape as it came out of the machine.
He also worried constantly that while we weren't looking, the cats would be up walking around on the table or kitchen cupboards. And, I imagine he was right although I always defended to death my adorable cats.
