Ray, Leola, and Uncle Don McFate

Brose, I am sure, may be able to remember a lot more things than I can, so far as history goes.  Uncle Don McFate told us a little story when we were at his place in pleasant Grovee the fore part of August.

When Dad and Mother were courting in Pima, Dad used to come and pick mother up in a one seated buggy that had a small storage space, like a box, behind the seat where one could carry items sort of like our car trunks are now, except much smaller.

This particular evening they were going to Thatcher to a dance.  Uncle Don slippeed himself into this trunk unbeknownst to Dad and Mother and rode all the way to Thatcher with them, jumping out just before they stopped and diasappearing.  The same thing happened on the way home.  Just before they stopped at home, he jumped out and letting them know he had been riding with them and informing them he was going to tell Pa all he had seen and heard.  He really got himself in the dog house!
