The 4th of July 1955 Laura, Karen, Raymond and I (Myrna) were living in Chandler, Arizona. We went down town to watch the parade. There was a huge crowd of people, all pushing forward to get closer to see the parade. Raymond suddenly had the feeling we should move back. We had no sooner done so than a couple of horses in the parade got spooked and broke free and raced down the sidewalk knocking people in all direction. Several people were hurt and one person was killed. But we were fine. Always listen to the Spirit.
One sunny afternoon in Duncan, Arizona about 1957, Laura and Karen were playing in the front yard of our home when I had the feeling they should come inside the house. Right soon after they came in a team of horses broke away from a farmer and raced through our front yard. Something had frightened them and they ran away from him. They were still dragging the double tree and were yoked together. They came through the drive way entrance, ran across the lawn, dragging that double tree, knocked a chunk of cement from the sidewalk, then continued on to knock down the picket fence to get to the side road. That was frightening to all of us, but we were glad we were safe.
