Reading the Funnies with Dad

Photobucket

One of my favorite childhood memories is of reading the Sunday funnies with my dad. We would sit in his lap, often in his big lazy boy chair, and he would read the funnies to us. He pointed to each frame and speech bubble.

I don't remember him doing crazy voices or anything, but I do remember that he did all the right emotions and that was enough. We read all the comics, except Cathy and another that I don't remember the title. Cathy was a bit to feminist and crazy woman-ish for my dad, and the other one just wasn't funny.

Now Bruce reads them tp Karen. Her eyesight makes it hard to read the funnies. He describes what s going on. lts of fun together! Our favorite is Pickles!
