Vessa's Green Thumb

Vessa could grow anything from house plants to a garden. I remember the two front windows of the insurance office that were full to the brim of beautiful plants. She usually had so many houseplants that she would keep them on a table on her front porch so they didn’t take over the house. She always had a plant she could use to give someone a “start.” On two different occasions she took something of mine that I considered “dead” and not only revived it but grew it into a magnificent plant. In her later years she liked to keep an Aloe Vera plant around for burns and rashes, and her plant was huge. In the yard in our downtown house, she had a very nice garden. She loved growing vegetables and entered several in the county fair and won prizes for them.
